Pair of Alvar Aalto laminated plywood ‘Model 65’ children’s chairs produced by Artek Finland

Hi, for sale we have a pair of Alvar Aalto laminated plywood Model 65 children’s chairs produced by Artek Finland.

Not 100% sure of the age of them, probably late 70s due to the nice honey coloured plywood used as opposed to the modern version which are much lighter in colour and finish.

These particular examples have had their backs painted white at some time, and also had a white vinyl type covering placed over the seats

They are offered for sale in good condition, the frames are excellent, all screws are present etc, the only downside are the seats which are marked and have some small slits to them. I would suggest that it would be fairly easy to recover them at home with some material and a staple gun.

Measurements : seat height 38 cm, back rail height 60 cm and diameter of seat 25 cm.

With a little tlc these lovely little stools will look great in the children’s bedroom/play room, to buy new they retail for £260 each.
